PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power storage system in which the deterioration of performance of a storage cell resulting from overdischarge is suppressed while effectively utilizing generated power based on renewable energy.SOLUTION: A power storage system 100 allows charge of a storage cell 3 by power of a power generating installation 1 when it is determined that a charge state of the storage cell 3 is insufficient in a state in which power is supplied from the storage cell 3 to a controller 7 in blackout, and blocks power supply from the storage cell 3 to the controller 7 when it is determined that the charge state of the storage cell 3 is insufficient during charge of the storage cell 3 in the blackout. In addition, the power storage system 100 restarts the power supply from the storage cell 3 to the controller 7, allows the charge of the storage cell 3 by the power of the power generating installation 1 when restart of the power supply to the controller 7 is instructed in the blackout, and blocks the power supply from the storage cell 3 to the controller 7 again when it is determined that the charge of the storage cell 3 by the power of the power generating installation 1 is insufficient after the restart of the power supply from the storage cell 3 to the controller 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
