Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and accurately quantifying a lithium manganese spinel type crystal phase existing in a cathode active material containing a lithium manganese based complex oxide after a charge/discharge cycle test.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a method including at least one of steps of: measuring a range of 2θ=61 to 66° in an X-ray diffractometer using CuKα rays for a cathode active material after a charge/discharge cycle test, performing profile fitting upon an obtained X-ray diffraction pattern with three peaks, and calculating an area ratio of two higher-angle peaks and one lower-angle peak; and measuring aFe Moessbauer spectral spectrum for the cathode active material after the charge/discharge cycle test, performing profile fitting upon an obtained paramagnetic tablet peak with a symmetric tablet of two components, and calculating an area ratio of a trivalent iron ion component at a position where four oxygen atoms are coordinated, and a trivalent iron ion component at a position where six oxygen atoms are coordinated.SELECTED DRAWING: None
