Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiaxial hinge device capable of following a change in a circumferential length of a flexible display panel with an extending/folding operation.SOLUTION: A multiaxial hinge device is disposed at a rear side of a flexible display panel that is spread over front sides of a first housing and a second housing and creates an extending state where the flexible display panel is made flat and a bent state in which the flexible display panel is brought into a folded state. The multiaxial hinge device consists of single or more hinge units. The hinge unit consists of a pair of fitting pieces to be fitted to a first housing side and a second housing side, and multiple coupling pieces that are provided between the fitting pieces. Each of the fitting pieces and each of the coupling pieces include guide holes through which multiple coupling shafts are inserted. Thus, the coupling shafts are moved along the guide holes with an opening/closing operation of the flexible display panel and a circumferential length of the hinge unit is enabled to follow a change in the circumferential length of the flexible display panel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
