Abstract:
To provide an exhaust emission control system capable of suppressing the degradation of exhaust emission control performance at a low cost.SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control system includes an exhaust pipe 3 through which exhaust gas produced in an internal combustion engine 2 can pass, an exhaust emission control catalyst placed in the exhaust pipe 3, a plasma reactor 5 placed in the exhaust pipe 3 on the downstream side further than the exhaust emission control catalyst, a power supply 6 for applying electric power to the plasma reactor 5, a catalyst sensor 7 for detecting the exhaust emission control performance of the exhaust emission control catalyst, and a control unit 8 for controlling the output of the power supply. The control unit 8 calculates the deterioration degree of the exhaust emission control catalyst on the basis of the detection of the catalyst sensor 7 and controls the output of the power supply 6 to apply the electric power according to the deterioration degree of the exhaust emission control catalyst to the plasma reactor 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
