Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical integrated circuit for obtaining stable light output without causing a principal loss of not less than 3 dB, and to provide a control method of the optical integrated circuit.SOLUTION: An optical integrated circuit 2 includes: a light branching part 1 including a first input port 11 for receiving input light 51 and first and second output ports 13, 14; and first and second light reflection parts 3, 4. A difference in an optical phase between the amount of change in an optical phase of a first optical path in that input light 51 impinging on the first input port 11 makes a round trip in order of the first output port 13, the first light reflection part 3, the first output port 13, and the first input port 11, and the amount of an optical phase of a second optical path in that input light 51 impinging on the first input port makes a round trip in order of the second output port 14, the second light reflection part 4, the second output port 14, and the first input port 11 is essentially set to an odd number times of π, and a light power ratio of the first and second pieces of output light 53, 54 is set to be essentially equal to an inverse of the light power ratio of the first and second pieces of reflection light 58, 59.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14
