Abstract:
To provide a solenoid valve stably performing sliding operation of a plunger by preventing foreign matters from invading between the plunger and a cylinder part, and to provide a water heater using the solenoid valve.SOLUTION: A solenoid valve is configured such that: a back pressure chamber 60 is formed between a valve body 20 and an expansion part 52; the back pressure chamber 60 communicates with an inflow pipe 11 via a bypass hole 24; the back pressure chamber 60 turns to have pressure higher than that in an outflow pipe 12 via the bypass hole 24 to maintain the valve body 20 in a closed state by blocking a pilot hole 23 with a disk 31; the back pressure chamber 60 turns to have pressure lower than that in the inflow pipe 11 via the pilot hole 23 to maintain the valve body 20 in an open state by operating the plunger 30 to open the pilot hole 23; and the back pressure chamber 60 is provided with a foreign matter intrusion preventing material 70 preventing foreign matters flowing in through the bypass hole 24 from intruding between the plunger 30 and the cylinder part 51.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
