Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective means of using tar sludge, which conventionally has been an industrial waste or used as a fuel, as a binder for molded coal, a means of using the tar sludge as a binder suitable for manufacturing the molded coal and a means for recovering the tar sludge which does not require the work load of equipment operation when carrying out recovery from a tar decanter.SOLUTION: There is provided a binder for molded coal consisting of a mixture of tar and tar sludge and having viscosity at 70°C of 330 mPa s or less and a weight reduction amount (A) when heated from ordinary temperature to 900°C of 87% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
