Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant restraint capable of more surely restraining the waist part at the time of a front crash than before.SOLUTION: A restraint 10 for the waist part of a sitting person is provided for restraining a forward movement of the waist part of a sitting person by elevating a seating surface 2a of a seat part 2 of a vehicle seat 1 in correspondence with a front crash in a state of a waist part seat belt 20b of the vehicle seat 1 being fastened. The elevation shape of the seating surface 2a of the restraint 10 for the waist part of a sitting person in correspondence with the front crash is in a convex shape having a ridge line part 2ad extending in a vehicle front-rear direction at a substantially center position in a width direction of the seat part 2. Further, the height and width of the ridge line part 2ad gradually increase as extending from the vehicle rear side to the front side. Thereby, at the time of a front crash, the waist part of a sitting person S is restrained from being moved forward in a manner riding onto the ridge line part 2ad. Also, due to the ridge line part 2ad, a horizontal movement of the thigh part is restrained and thereby the horizontal movement of the waist part is also restrained.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
