PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous pigment dispersion excellent in color development to plain paper and excellent in dispersibility and storage stability.SOLUTION: The invention relates to an aqueous pigment dispersion which contains a quinacridone pigment, a basic compound, a water soluble organic solvent and a radical copolymer having an aromatic ring structure or a heterocyclic structure and anionic group and acid value of 50 to 120 mgKOH/g and has mass ratio of the radical polymer to the quinacridone pigment in a range of 0.001 to 0.100.SELECTED DRAWING: None
