Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise seedlings suitable for transplanting in a seedling box in which seeds are densely seeded.SOLUTION: A method for raising seedlings involves loading culture soil S comprising nutrients into a seedling box 2 for raising seedlings and loading seeds and fertilizer into the culture soil S. At least predetermined weight of seeds that will give rise to a high vegetation density is loaded. The fertilizer F has slow release properties and is consumed over a predetermined amount of time from when it is loaded, and a weight of which is at least half that of the loaded amount of seeds as a weight ratio is loaded into the seedling box 2 at any of times before the culture soil S, before supplying water to the culture soil S, after supplying water to the culture soil S and before loading the seeds, before loading cover soil, or after loading cover soil. The culture soil S comprises a mixture of sand, a carbonaceous substance C, and an immediately effective cultivation fertilizer P. The compounding ratio of the carbonaceous substance C is at least half that of the culture soil S.
