Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grease composition that has improved flame retardance (self-quenching, fire non-spreadable properties) without containing a large amount of water unlike the conventional grease compositions.SOLUTION: A grease composition of the present invention comprises a base oil, a thickener, and a water-soluble polymer, and contains no water or has a water content of 10 mass% or less. The thickener comprises an urea compound, a lithium soap or a lithium complex soap. The water-soluble polymer comprises polyalkylene glycol. Further, when the thickener contains the urea compound, the content of the water-soluble polymer is not less than 0.6 mass%; when the thickener contains the lithium soap, the content of the water-soluble polymer is not less than 0.3 mass%; when the thickener contains the lithium complex soap, the content of the water-soluble polymer is not less than 1.6 mass%.SELECTED DRAWING: None
