Abstract:
To provide technologies to speed up the determination of bacterial identification and drug susceptibility test.SOLUTION: The situation of bacterial division is monitored by microscopic observation of the shape and number of bacteria in each well of the culture plate for a bacterial identification culture or a drug sensitivity test. And at a stage having transited from an induction period into a logarithmic period, the shape, number and area of bacteria are analyzed from the image obtained by the microscopic observation with respect to whether the bacteria grows or not to graph their changes over time. Whether the bacteria has grown is determined for each measurement from the graph, and the result of drug sensitivity is provided for each measurement by displaying the determination results on the screen.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
