Abstract:
The invention provides a backing flux capable of obtaining a weld metal excellent in the stability of the back bead shape and the height of the back bead height. The backing flux is used for submergedarc welding, and the backing flux is charactereized in that the backing flux contains the following components in percentages by mass: 20-50% of SiO2, 15-40% of MgO, 3-20% of CaF2, at least one selected from 30% or less of TiO2 and 40% or less of Al2O3, 1.0% or more of resins, and the melting point is 1650 DEG C or less.
