To provide a conservation method of a structural steelwork capable of reducing greatly the dust amount containing a coating film, or the projection amount of a projection time and a projection material.SOLUTION: A conservation method of a steel bridge includes a coating film softening step for coating a coating film softening agent on the coating film of the steel bridge, a hand tool scratching step for scratching the softened coating film with a hand tool, and then further a projection material projection step for removing the coating film from the structural steelwork by projecting the metal projection material to the softened coating film. Hereby, the dust amount containing the coating film, or the projection amount of a projection time and the projection material can be reduced greatly.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
