Abstract:
To provide a method for determining the health state of a companion animal which can easily and stably determine the health state of the companion animal.SOLUTION: The present invention includes: a subcutaneous fat thickness measuring step of conducting an ultrasonic measurement of a companion animal as a determination target and measuring the thickness of subcutaneous fat from an image obtained by the ultrasonic measurement; a body-fat percentage calculation step of calculating the body-fat percentage from the thickness of the subcutaneous fat; and a health state determination step of determining the health state by comparing the body-fat percentage of a healthy companion animal set in advance and the body-fat percentage calculated by the body-fat percentage calculation step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
