Abstract:
To provide an underwater mining base capable of responding to soft soil that accumulates on a flat land of a submarine deposit and an inclination and an undulation of a seamount.SOLUTION: A mining station 20 comprises a mining device 30 for mining a submarine deposit, and a platform 21 provided with the mining device 30 and erected on the sea bed. The mining device 30 includes: a housing 31 suspended from the platform 21 side so as to be able to ascend and descend by a wire 33; a pair of drum cutters 32 provided under the housing 31 and facing each other; a drive section for driving the pair of drum cutters 32 to rotate; and a mining section for mining excavation materials excavated by the drum cutter 32. The platform 21 has a plurality of support legs 26, and each support leg 26 is configured to be able to perform relative sliding movement individually in a Z direction by a jack mechanism 49.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
