Abstract:
To calculate the degree of similarity taking the roles of words appearing in two sentences into consideration.SOLUTION: A feature quantity specification unit specifies a feature quantity for each of words constituting first and second sentences. A role specification unit specifies a grammatical role of each of the words constituting the first and second sentences. An inter-word similarity specification unit specifies an inter-word similarity that is the similarity between the feature quantity of words constituting the first sentence and a feature quantity relating to words having a role common to the words constituting the first sentence among the words constituting the second sentence. An inter-sentence similarity specification unit specifies an inter-sentence similarity that is the similarity between the first and second sentence on the basis of the inter-word similarities between words.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
