Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a raising culture soil that comprises a material excellent in biodegradability and exhibits both excellent workability and excellent solidification properties, to provide the raising culture soil obtained by the production method, and to provide a method for cultivating plants using the raising culture soil.SOLUTION: A method for producing a raising culture soil includes the following steps 1 to 3: a step 1 of mixing a culture soil base material (A) with an aqueous solution of a monovalent cationic alginate (B) to obtain a culture soil base material mixture; a step 2 of drying the culture soil base material mixture to obtain a culture soil intermediate in which the base material (A) is solidified by the monovalent cationic alginate (B); and a step 3 of immersing a multivalent cation salt (C) in the culture soil intermediate to form a solidifying agent formed by performing ion exchange of at least one monovalent cation in the monovalent cationic alginate (B) with the multivalent cation the multivalent cation salt (C) has, thereby obtaining a raising culture soil in which the base material (A) is solidified by the solidifying agent.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
