To provide widely applicable an arrangement and method for inspecting an object, especially a building.SOLUTION: An arrangement includes: a mobile measuring unit 13 for determining a measured value associated with an object, especially a building 2, by a user 10 in situ; and a base unit 12. In the base unit 12, data record transmitted by the mobile measuring unit 13 may be stored and, preferably, may be displayed visually. Detection means 14 for detecting a measurement position and/or a measurement time is further present, and the measured value determined by the measuring unit 13 may be transmitted to the base unit 12 as a data record together with at least the measurement position and/or the measurement time detected by the detection means 14. In this case, the mobile measuring unit 13 non-destructively determines measured values for an internal structure and/or an internal state of components of the building 2, especially, inaccessible components.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
