Abstract:
To provide an optical connector and a transmission apparatus that enable an optical fiber to be efficiently cooled.SOLUTION: An optical connector 10 comprises: a housing 21 accommodating an optical fiber 11; a fixing member 22 that fixes the optical fiber 11 with an outer periphery thereof surrounded in the housing 21; circulation parts 23 each that are provided on both sides of the fixing member 22 in an axial direction of the optical fiber 11 in the housing 21; a first supply/discharge part 24 and a second supply/discharge part 25 that supply a cooling medium to the one circulation part 23 of the two circulation parts 23 and discharge the cooling medium from the other circulation part 23; a first communication part 43 that is disposed at a portion, in the fixing member 22, facing the optical fiber 11 and communicates the two circulation parts 23; and a second communication part 45 that is provided at a portion, in the fixing member 22, different from the portion facing the optical fiber 11 and communicates the two circulation parts 23.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
