Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that can prevent a reduction in the accuracy of image data of a test pattern caused by image reading means, and can calculate a correction value with high accuracy.SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus comprising: image forming means; image reading means; test pattern forming means that controls the image forming means to form a test pattern on a recording medium; acquisition means that reads the test pattern on the recording medium with the image reading means to acquire the image data of the test pattern; and correction value calculation means that calculates a predetermined correction value for optimizing an image based on the image data of the test pattern, a reading operation is performed by the image reading means before the test pattern is formed on the recording medium.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17
