To provide a refining method of a metal capable of refining a prescribed metal in high purity from molten metal such as metal scrap having high impurity concentration.SOLUTION: In a refining method of a metal including a cooling step for inputting molten metal containing a first metal to be refined and impurities other than the first metal into a refining vessel, and cooling it to a solid-liquid coexistence state, in the cooling step, the molten metal is cooled and simultaneously rotated by applying a rotary magnetic field from the outside of the refining vessel, and a crystallized solid of the first metal is recovered.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
