Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent yield reduction due to concn. penetration, in an electrodialytic apparatus having plural concentrating chambers and desalting chambers, by passing water to be treated through the concentrating chambers in a specific order to reduce the difference of concn. between the concentrating chambers and the desalting chambers. CONSTITUTION:An electrodialytic apparatus is constituted by opposedly arranging a concentrating chamber 10 and a desalting chamber 20 so as to interpose an ion exchange film 1 therebetween. The concentrating chamber 10 is divided into small chambers 11-16 and, on the other hand, the desalting chamber 20 is divided into small chambers 21-26. In the desalting chamber 20, sea water is supplied to the small chamber 21 to be successively passed through small chambers 22-26 in series and, on the other hand, in the concentrating chamber 10, sea water is supplied to the small chamber 13 to be successively passed through small chambers 14-16 and thereafter through small chambers 11, 12. By carrying out the aforesaid operation, the difference of the concn. A of the concentrating chamber and the concn. B of the desalting chamber can be reduced extremely compared to a conventional example C.
