Abstract:
PURPOSE:To utilize energy of slag of steel making for efficient treatment of dust, etc. by calcining the dust, etc. made into a lump shape to charge the same into the slag, blowing a bubbling gas thereto to accelerate reaction and recovering volatile metallic components. CONSTITUTION:Dust and sludge are made into a lumped material having a desired shape by a pelletizer 1 or briquetting machine 2 and is put into a hopper 3. Such material is charged by a belt conveyor 5 into a calcination furnace 4 and is calcined then a damper 7 is opened and a dust collector 6 is operated. The calcined material is dropped into a hopper 8 and if necessary, the calcined material is charged together with a reaction accelerator in common use as an agent for preventing collapsion from a hoper 13 into the slag of steel making contained in a one-mouthed pan 10 in a hermetic chamber 11. A bubbling gas adjusted in flow rate and pressure by a control device 12 is blown into a mixture composed of the slag and the calcined material to stir the mixture. The volatile metallic components such as Zn, Pb, etc. generated by such blowing are collected in a cyclone and the dust collector 6 via a damper 14.
