Abstract:
Novel trihalomethylhydroxylactones of the general formula < IMAGE > in which X1, X2 and X3 in each case denote a fluorine, chlorine or bromine atom and the tautomeric cis-keto acids are valuable intermediates for the preparation of cis-2-(2,2-dihalovinyl)-3,3-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acids which are key compounds in the preparation of pyrethroid insecticides.
