Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain metallic surface that has stable coefficient of friction under oil lubrication by pressing the surface of metal that performs torque transmission with an uneven face of high hardness and then pressing with a flat face. CONSTITUTION:On the flat surface 1a of a material 1 for parts made of spheroidized annealed high carbon chrome bearing steel, emery paper 2 etc. having uneven face higher in hardness than the surface 1a of the metal is placed. Pressure is applied from above by a press etc. to give unevenness more than 10mu in depth to the surface of the material 1. Then, a flat face 3a of a pressing member 3 made of steel high in hardness is pressed against the uneven surface 1a to form flat parts 1b and scattering holes 1c. The depth of holes is more than 5mu. When this treated material 1 is used for a part in which torque transmission is performed by mutual contact of the surface of metal under oil lubrication, the oil film is cut by deep holes 1c and metallic surface becomes a state of boundary lubrication. Accordingly, stable coefficient of friction and large torque transmission effect are obtained.
