Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase the strength of the titled activated alumina, by using alumina containing 10-50wt% of zirconia on the basis of alumina and having an average fine pore size of 40-100nm and a specific area of 20m<2>/g or more. CONSTITUTION:Molded alumina is impregnated with an aqueous zirconium salt solution and the impregnated one is dried and baked. As alumina, gamma-alumina is used and, as zirconia, one with an average fine pore size of 40-100nm is used. In addition, the amount of zirconia is set to 10-50wt% on the basis of alumina. As the zirconium salt, zirconyl chloride and zirconium nitrate are desingnated. The obtained zirconia-containing activated alumina can be used in a field of the catalytic hydroforming treatment of heavy oil.
