Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0244355
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
Thermal cracking method for producing olefines (17) from hydrocarbons (7). A hydrocarbon fuel (1) is burnt with oxygen (3) in the presence of steam (5) to generate a high-temperature gas containing steam (6) of 1500-3000 DEG C. Methane and hydrogen (28) with their mol ratio of 0.05 or more is supplied into the high-temperature gas containing said steam (6), then hydrocarbon to be cracked (7) is supplied into said high-temperature gas containing said methane, hydrogen and steam, so that the hydrocarbon is subjected to thermal cracking (8) by maintaining the partial pressure of hydrogen at more than at least 0.1 bar at the outlet of a reactor, under conditions of reaction temperature, 800-1200 DEG C and residence time in the reactor 5-300 ms, and then the reaction product is cooled (10) in a rapid manner.
