Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain filter cloth good in dust collecting capacity and reduced in pessure drop, by a method wherein false twisted yarn is used as warp while long fiber yarn of an extremely fine fiber bundle is used as weft and double faced weft satin fabric is woven therefrom to be subjected to raising processing and heat pressing. CONSTITUTION:Elastic bulky false twisted yarn having a total denier of 50- 300d and comprising a filament with a denier of 1-8d is used as warp yarn while long fiber yarn of an extremely fine fiber bundle having a total denier 50-300d and comprising a filament with a denier of 0.5d or less is used as weft yarn to weave double weft faced satin fabric. In the next step, this fabric is subjected to raising process by using a card wire raising machine so as to adjust shrinkage percentage in a width direction to 20% or more and raising density to 3,000-20,000/cm<2> and the resulting raised fabric is compressed in a ratio of 20-60% by heat press processing to adjust the voids thereof to 70-80%. As a synthetic fiber filament to be used, a thermoplastic fiber comprising polyamide, polyester, polyolefin or cellulose acetate is designated.
