Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make the indicating input possible without hardware taken in the operator's hand by inputting the shape of a manual operation as an image and discriminating and processing it. CONSTITUTION:The shape and the position of a human hand 1 are inputted as two-dimensional image information by an image input part 2. This two-dimensional image information is transmitted to a shape and position separating part 3. The shapes of the hand and fingers, their relative positions on an image screen, and their absolute positions are separated and shape and position information by comparison with the background. This shape and position information is transmitted to a feature extracting part 4, and individual characteristics such as an individual difference of the size of hand and fingers are eliminated, and the features of operation shapes of universal hand and fingers are extracted. The feature information of operation shapes of hand and fingers extracted in this manner is transmitted to an indicating signal output part 5. The preiliminarily determined features of operation shapes of hand and fingers and indicating information are compared with the contents of a conversion table 6 and are converted to indication information to a processing device 7 and are outputted.
