Abstract:
On a model (1) of a shaft, sealants (16) are arranged at the projecting parts (2, 3, 4) surrounded by a mould (8, 9, 10) in such a way that the gap (15) between them is completely protected against the ingress of sand grains. This results in a substantial reduction in the number of surface faults or defects in the cast shaft.
