Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the delay of refluxing of fuel and also the dispersion of air- fuel ratios by promoting the atomization of fuel contained in refluxing gas during the refluxing period of suction gas in a pump-loss reduction system. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger 15 in which engine-cooling water W passes as a heat exchange medium is provided on the periphery of an inlet gas refluxing path 11 through which part of inlet air in the cylinder 1 is refluxed to an inlet gas path 4 during the compression stroke. Inlet air passing through the inlet gas refluxig path 11 is heated by heat exchange action with an engine cooling water W, and thereby the atomization of fuel contained in the inlet air is accelerated. Thus, the adherence of fuel to the inner wall of the inlet gas refluxing path 11 during the refluxing period of inlet gas can be prevented, the delay of refluxing of the fuel content can be suppressed as much as possible, and the dispersion of air-fuel ratios in the cylinder 1 in each gas suction stroke can be eliminated. Therefore, the air-fuel ratios can be equalized and the combustion is thus stabilized.
