The vacuum producing device has a tubular cylinder in which a sliding piston is located. The piston is connected to a rod which passes through a seal in a primary base of the cylinder. The suction aperture is connected to the cylinder adjacent the primary base when the piston presses inwards towards a secondary base of the cylinder. The suction aperture (10) is arranged in the base of the cylinder (2) and runs parallel to it. It is possible to retrain the cylinder (2) and press the piston (11) inwards towards the cylinder second base (3) with one hand. Pref. the cylinder has two radial eyes in the region of the first base. An axial channel is used to facilitate quick connection between the suction opening in the second base with the cylinder when the piston takes up a predetermined position.
