Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the ignitability and reduce the energy loss of an engine by injecting fuel in a prescribed time from the latter half of a suction stroke to the compression stroke when the load is light, and at a prescribed time in the former half of a suction stroke when the load is heavy and by reducing the air injection quantity corresponding to the fuel quantity. CONSTITUTION:When the load of an engine is light, the fuel is injected from an injection valve 21 against a sparking plug 20 at a prescribed time in the latter half of a compression stroke, which facilitates the ignition and combustion even the fuel quantity is small. In this time, the suction air to a suction passage 8 is not limited and the pumping loss is reduced. On the other hand, when the load is heavy, the injected fuel is dispersed into the combustion chamber 7 by the air from a suction passage 2 and a swirl control valve 10 is opened and the swirling in the combustion chamber 7 is accelerated, thus the fuel is atomized and vaporized. Moreover, when stratiform air intake is not performed air injection is not required for the atomization and vaporization of the fuel, which decreases the air injection quantity and the energy loss is reduced.
