Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0526461
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the productivity of an antibiotic substance, by cultivating a miroorganism capable of producing the antibiotic substance under irradiation with light within a specific wavelength region. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism capable of producting an antibiotic substance is cultivatied under irradiation with rays of light containing light at least 280nm and or above to produce the antibiotic substance. The method is applicable to any kinds of microorganisms, but the effect is particularly remarkable on microorganisms of fungi and actinomyces. A light filter is if necessary used to cultivate the microorganisms under irradiation with artificial rays of light having an irradiation intensity of rays of light containing rays of light within >=280nm wavelength region suppressed to <=100,000muw/cm<2>, preferably 10,000-1muw/cm<2>.
