Abstract:
Portable saw for the cutting of pipes, comprising a housing and an elongated saw blade. A drive, a gear unit and a longitudinally running reciprocating piston rod are contained in the housing. The reciprocating piston rod is fastened with one end to the said gear unit for performing a longitudinally running reciprocating movement and is passed through an opening in the housing. The saw blade is provided with saw teeth along a longitudinal edge and is connected at its foot end to the free end of the reciprocating piston rod. The lateral housing walls are covered with a sheath which has an elongated shaped recess and forms a ventilation shaft together with the outer surface of the corresponding lateral housing wall. This side wall has one or more through holes which lead into the ventilation shaft.
