Abstract:
Compounds represented by formula (I), (wherein X represents a lower alkenylene or lower alkylene group optionally containing a hydroxy group, Y represents (1) a lower alkyl group, (2) a C3-8 cycloalkyl group, (3) a lower alkenyl group, (4) an aryl group, (5) an aralkyl group, or (6) a 3- to 8-membered hetero cyclic group, or X and Y of the Y-SO2-X group are bound to each other and represent (II), (wherein represents an integer of 0 to 3, and m and n each represent an integer of 0 to 6, with the sum of m and n being 2 to 6), and R represents an optionally substituted hydrocarbyl group or a 3- to 8-membered heterocyclic group) or the salts thereof, process represented by the scheme (III), (wherein Z represents an eliminatable group, COOR<1> represents an optionally protected carboxyl group, and other symbols are as defined above) and antibacterial composition containing compound (I) or its salt.
