Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make it possible to aim at regenerating a particulate trapping filter even though the temperature of exhaust gas is low, by previously diffusing catalyst in particulates so that they are mixed together. CONSTITUTION:A particulate trapping filter 12 is disposed in an exhaust passage 11 in a Diesel-engine, and traps particulates from a fuel chamber in the Diesel- engine. There is provided a pipe line connecting between a fuel additive supply device 26 and the intake-air system of a Diesel-engine upstream of the particulate trapping filter 12 in order to mix a fuel additive with the particulates. Chloride of Pb, Cu, Ca, etc. is used as the fuel additive, which is trapped in the trapping filter 12 in such a condition that it is contained in the particulates.
