Abstract:
PURPOSE:To maintain the charging efficiency of suction air at a constant level and improve the stability of combustion, by connecting to a combustion chamber an exhaust gas recovering passage branched from an exhaust passage, and providing a spray supplying pipe for supplying a cool spray into the combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust gas recovering passage 14 branched from an exhaust passage is connected to a combustion chamber 9 defined and formed of ceramic. A spray supplying pipe 23 for supplying a cool spray into the combustion chamber 9 is provided in the recovering passage 14. When an exhaust stroke of an engine comes to its end, a second openable valve 24 in the spray supplying pipe 23 is opened, and simultaneously a first openable valve 20 in the exhaust gas recovering passage 14 is opened, thereby supplying the cool spray into the combustion chamber 9. The cool spray takes the heat uniformly away from the wall surface of the combustion chamber 9, and is evaporated to be expanded. Then, the spray is emitted during a period of time from the end of the exhaust stroke to the start of a suction stroke. Thus, the charging efficiency of suction air into the combustion chamber may be stabilized.
