Abstract:
The method involves : separating the matrix of photosensitive cells into two rasters of interlaced lines (1... 576) of cells, coupling each line (1, 2;... 575, 576) of a raster with its homologous line in the other raster to obtain a sequence of ordinates for pairs of homologous cells, adding (2, 3) for each pair the luminance values provided by each cell, transmitting the resulting luminance values relating to each pair of cells, varying the operation rate of the system both to simplify the transmission coder-decoder and to improve its performance. Applications : videophones.
