Abstract:
PURPOSE:To efficiently process packet traffic by using a frame multiplexer to apply line concentration to the packet traffic incoming from plural subscribers. CONSTITUTION:In the system multiplexing the packet traffic for a D channel of a digital integration service network ISDM 4, the D channel packet traffic is subjected to line concentration by a frame multiplexer 11, an address field of a D channel link layer is converted by the frame multiplexer 11 to inform a subscriber line number of a terminal equipment to a packet handler 3, which checks the congestion state of the frame multiplexer 111 and the permanent path relating thereto. Since data is transferred multiplexedly to the permanent path 2 in spreading the permanent path 2 on the packet handler 3, the number of ports of the packet handler PH is reduced and the data processing efficiency of the using path is improved.
