Abstract:
PURPOSE:To lessen the number of times of replacement of a cutting blade and a blade rest and to reduce the labor of an operator, by providing a stopper part at least for one of the cutting blade and the blade rest. CONSTITUTION:A spent neutron counter tube 6 is cut with pressure by a cutting blade 16 and a blade rest 17. The cutting blade 16 made of a hard metal of tungsten carbide is shaped in a rectangle substantially, and an edge part 20 is provided at the fore end thereof. A stopper part 21 preventing the contact of the edge part 20 with the blade rest is provided on both sides of the edge part 20. The edge part 20 is angled in two inclinations. Since the wear of the cutting blade and the blade rest can be reduced by this constitution, the life of the cutting blade and the blade rest can be made long, the number of times of replacement of the cutting blade and the blade rest can be lessened, and the reduction of the labor of an operator and the prevention of exposure to radiations are enabled. Since the edge part is angled in two inclinations, in addition, the spent neutron counter tube 6 can be cut in the crushed state wherein an incorporated substance is enclosed therein.
