Abstract:
New substrates for y-glutamyltransferase (y-GT) are disclosed. These substrates are useful in the colorimetric determination of y-GT since the cleavage of the y-glutamyl group produces a detectable species - an aminostyrylquinolinium dye. The substrates have the formula:wherein: R and R1 are independently selected from hydrogen, alkyl and alkoxy and Q iswherein: R2 is alkyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms R3 and R4 are independently selected from hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, cyano and halogen; and X⊖ is an anion.
