Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce a problem of skew, and accurately feed a sheet paper or the like, by providing a friction member on the entire circumference of a feeding roller which friction member has circumferential grooves arranged at a fixed small space in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:A distribution of pressure applied on a sheet paper 1 is shown in th drawing. A roller portion 6a-6h contributes to the sheet paper 1, and friction member 6a and 6h only contribute to the generation of a tangential force at the ends of the sheet paper where a maximum value of the pressure distribution tends to be generated. However, the deformation of the friction members is almost absorbed by grooves 7a, 7g and 7h. Accordingly, the pressure distribution in the axial direction against the sheet paper 1 becomes substantially flat. Further, it is possible to apply an equally distributed pressure against any sheet papers having appropriate sizes and thicknesses by suitably adjusting a spacing b of the grooves 7a-7h and a width a of the friction members 6a-6r. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent the generation of skew due to ununiformity of the pressure distribution, and thereby feed the sheet paper to the subsequent process with a high accuracy.
