Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and device for filtering a liquid medium, particularly waste water, containing suspended particles and materials. The liquid medium is caused to flow through a filtering agent comprising fragments of an elastically deformable expanded plastic material with open or semi-open cells of a size comprised between 0.1 and 2.5 mm, the plastic material fragments having a maximum volume of about 8 cm?3 in the uncompressed status.
