Abstract:
A clamping element for holding freight pieces fast in the cargo bay of aircraft consists of two clamps which are arranged in a common clamp housing and whose clamping claws point in opposite directions. The clamps are held on pivoting axes which are arranged at a lateral distance from one another, parallel to the aircraft longitudinal axis. Tension springs engaging on the clamps eccentrically with respect to the respective pivoting axis hold the clamps in the extended locking position, in which they are additionally supported against one another by stops. An oblique inclined surface, which is provided on each clamp and extends in the conveying direction, ensures, together with a lever linkage connecting both clamps, that the clamping element can be rolled over by freight pieces of full width in the conveying direction, while said clamping element holds freight pieces of half width fast in the lateral and vertical direction when it is arranged between them. ……
