Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the filter material which is easily cleanable without generating clogging by using spiral swarf formed by cutting fine rods made of plastic from the top ends thereof by a lathe. CONSTITUTION:The spiral swarf formed by cutting fine rods made of the plastic from the top ends thereof by the lathe is used as the filter material for cleaning the water in a water tank and pond. Then, the surface area of this filter material has the area of >=10 times the surface area of gravel and the spacings 2 thereof are extremely narrow. The filter materials 1 come into substantially point contact with each other and spacings 3 thereof are suitably large when such filter materials 1 are packed in a filter tank. The generation of the clogging is, therefore, obviated and the cleaning of the filter materials is easy.
