Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a primer compsn. having excellent low-temperature physical properties, impact resistance, adhesion to substrates and topcoats, etc., by dissolv ing two specified styrene resins obtd. by graft polymerization with an alpha,beta-unsat urated carboxylic acid in an org. solvent. CONSTITUTION:A resin (A) having acid groups obtd. by grafting an alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid (anhydride) (e.g., maleic anhydride or acrylic acid) onto a styrene/butadiene block copolymer, a hydrogenated product thereof, a styrene/ isoprene block copolymer or a hydrogenated product thereof, and a resin (B) having acid groups, obtd. by grafting an alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid (anhydride) onto a hydrogenated styrene/butadiene/styrene block copolymer are prepd. The components A and B are dissolved in an org. solvent (e.g., toluene or methyl ethyl ketone) to obtain the desired primer compsn.
