Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a matte surface having the decreased directivity by provid ing many fine scratches extending at specific angles with the rolling direction of aluminum and its alloy foil to said foil, superposing the foil with such surfaces as mating surfaces and rolling the foil, so that the fine ridges cross each other. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum foil web A is let off by a supporting roller 1 and a rotary brush 2 is pressed atop the web A and is rotated in the feed direction of the web A or in the direction opposite therefrom. Since wires are flocked to the brush 2, the fine scratches are formed on the web surface. A sliding table 3 may be used in place of the roller 1 and a belt sander 4 and a grinding wheel roller 5 may be used in place of the brush 2. The contact angle thereof with the web A is so determined that the scratches 6 extending at <=45 deg. angle with the rolling direction are formed. The treated surface of the web A' as the mating surface is superposed on the above-mentioned web and the webs are subjected to lap welding by rollers 7, 7. The web A'' formed with the fine ridges 8 in the direction approximately perpendicular to the rolling direction is thus obtd.
