Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce a filmy adhesive stably, by dissolving an epoxy resin and a specific polyvinyl butyral in a solvent and mixing a latent curing agent insol. in said solvent with the resulting solution. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. bisphenol epoxy resin, epoxy novolak resin or mixture of two or more thereof and 1.0-100 pts.wt. polyvinyl butyral contg. at least 2.0wt.% vinyl acetate and at most 15wt.% vinyl alcohol and having an average degree of polymn. of 500 or higher and dissolved in a non-chlorinated solvent with an SP value of 9.20 or lower and a b.p. of 150 deg.C or lower, such as a mixed solvent of a hydrocarbon and an ester. A latent curing agent insol. to said solvent and having an activation temp. indicated by DSC peak temp. of higher than the b.p. of said solvent is dispersed in the resulting solution to given an adhesive solution. A layer of or contg. the adhesive solution is formed on a releasable substrate and dried at a temp. below the b.p. of said solvent.
